Jim Butcher's Dresden Files: War Cry by Jim Butcher

I have been on a bit of a comic book hiatus since I binge read the Walking Dead books. I happened to get an email for new Comics from NetGalley and this was in it. I love the Dresden File books that I have read and the comics are a lot of fun. I had to grab this as soon as I could. Thank you Netgalley.

I have missed a lot apparently since the last graphic novel I read. This book finds Dresden as a Warden of the White council. His first mission is to take a bunch of newly appointed Wardens who are young and inexperienced to the middle of nowhere and rescue a few mortals. These regular humans have been targeted by the Red Court of Vampires and it is Harry's Job to get them and keep them safe.  The story was really good and it made me want to catch up on all of the books and Graphic novels I have missed. I love the Dresden files novels but I have only read about 5 of them. I wish I had more time to sit down and read because I would be able to catch up on these.

The thing I like about these graphic novels is the art work. The way the characters are drawn is exactly how I picture them in my head when when I read the books. The art work is very well done and the cover art is some of the best in this book. The detail is really good and really helps get you interested in what will be in each issue in this collection.

These are always fun reads that allow me to step out of my comfort zone of my superhero comics and mystery novels. I look forward to seeing one of these pop up at my library or NetGalley every chance I get. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. I had a lot of fun reading this and it has only further sparked my love for these characters.
