Waiting on Wednesday- Aquaman Vol 3: Throne of Atlantis by Geoff Johns

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine. This day allows us to share news on upcoming releases that have us on the edge of our seats in anticipation.

I never thought I would see the day where I would be excited about an Aquaman book. Aquaman has always been the joke of the DC Universe. He has been ridiculed in tons of television shows such as Saturday Night Live and Big Bang Theory. Even when Smallville introduced Aquaman, the guy was kind of lame. Geoff Johns has changed that.

When the New 52 launched, DC looked at it as a way to redo their beloved heroes. Some of the reboots were not what I wanted to see, but others were amazing stories. Aquaman is one of those stories that has done well with a fresh relaunch. Here is the Goodreads description for this book.
Aquaman, who long ago lost contact with his people, must watch as armies emerge from the sea to attack the surface world. The Justice League answers the call to defend the shores from the invading Atlantean horde. But whose side is Aquaman on? With his brother Orm at the head of the undersea army, will Aquaman stand with his Earth-bound superteam? Or his own people? Find out in this exciting hardcover collecting AQUAMAN #0 and 14-16 and JUSTICE LEAGUE #15-17.
I have always been fascinated with the story of Atlantis as a child. A city so technologically advanced it vanished into the sea never to be found. This book is going to (I hope) add to that classic story. I am really looking forward to the release of this book, and I already have my name on the wait list at the library.

    1. I don't think you have to be a comic book fan to enjoy a graphic novel every once and awhile. Sometimes the comics I read have just as good of a story as some of the best novels I've read. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I always appreciate the comments.
