Waiting on Wednesday- The Joker: Death of the Family

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine. This day allows us to share news on upcoming releases that have us on the edge of our seats in anticipation.

I have loved this story line so far. The Joker has returned after a year of being absent. Face in hand, he is out to find the Batman that once was. Joker feels Batman is to dependent on his family; Nightwing, Red Robin, Batgirl, and so on. He wants the dark brooding and lonely Batman that he remembers. The story line has taken some interesting twists and turns so far. Here is the Goodreads description:

After having his face sliced off one year ago, The Joker makes his horrifying return in this new epic that features Batman's entire network of partners in crime fighting, including Batgirl, Catwoman, Nightwing, Robin, the Teen Titans and more. While The Joker threatens the very existence of Gotham City, these heroes --and villains--must find a way to survive.

Collects CATWOMAN #13-14, BATGIRL #13-16, SUICIDE SQUAD #14-15, BATMAN AND ROBIN #15-16, NIGHTWING #15-16, DETECTIVE COMICS #15-16, RED HOOD AND THE OUTLAWS #15-16 and TEEN TITANS #15-16.
I love these collections that DC puts out. You get the bulk of the story by collecting the different titles in one book. At the same time, you will have questions that will make you want to rush out and pick up the Nightwing or Batgirl books. This is very clever because you are satisfied with the story having a beginning, middle and end, but then you want to know more about what is going on.

There's not too much longer to wait on this one. This book will be released on October 22nd, but it might be longer before I can rush out and get it. I can't wait to read it though.
