Follow me Friday- Kickstarter Campaign
Feature Follow is the day of the week that we get to know each other and make some new friends. This is graciously put on by our hosts Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Each week there is one blog featured by each host and a question to help us break the ice and open discussion. Since I am new to blogging I don't currently have a preference as to how you follow me. Feel free to follow through bloglovin, email, or GFC. I'm not picky just happy to have the company.
This weeks question is if I was doing a Kickstarter campaign for my favorite book to be made into a movie, what would it be, and who would I cast.
Well since both of my favorite books have been made into movies (Bone Collector, and IT) I decided to pick a different book that I would love to see made into a movie. I chose ... Joyland by Stephen King. I chose this mainly because I am reading this now, and it is fresh in my mind.
I am terrible at trying to decide who to cast in certain roles. I can't get past how I see the characters in my mind to choose a real person who could play it. Although I can be very opinionated as to who is cast for certain roles until I see the movie.
I couldn't have done this without the help of my wife and our friend Cathy. I asked them who they thought would be good after describing the character they agreed that Nicholas Hoult would be a good fit.
The only other character that I think I have picked out pretty well would be that of Erin Cook. She is a fiery red head who becomes instant friends with Dev. She is working at Joyland as a Hollywood girl. They run around the park taking photos of the visitors in hopes they buy them as a souvenir. For this character I picked Emma Stone
There is another character named Mike. He is a little boy who has a debilitating illness, but there is something really special about him. He spends his time in a wheel chair because of his weak legs, but he sees more than anyone around him knows. For this character I decided to go with CJ Adams.
This is as far as I got, and remember I am not very good at picking actors to play certain roles. For those of you who have read this book tell me what you think. I may be way off the mark on this, but I would love to get your thoughts. The book is amazing, and I am really loving it. That review will be posted on my blog soon.
Well happy Friday everyone, and I look forward to seeing what type of comments this draws.
I am the worst at picking people too... confession.. the Follow Friday Post I posted this week I have used twice before on similar Follow Me Friday questions over the 2 years I have been blogging!! I am back from Yellowstone ... which has no internet (yes SHOCKER) so I'll be back to blogging!
ReplyDeleteWell lucky you that you had this topic already to go. Hope you had a great time at Yellowstone, even without Internet.
DeleteThank you so much for stopping by my FF, and for following. I see most of us are of the same mind. Love your Emma Stone pick though. She's fab!

Happy Friday!
I can see I made a good decision with Emma Stone even if she doesn't exactly fit the character. Thanks for checking out my post
DeleteI love Emme Stone, but not as a blonde, which is what she's been doing for the past year!

I agree, I think she is much prettier as a red head, but my wife tells me she is a natural blond normally.
DeleteCool casting. Thanks for sharing :)

I've never read Stephen King (and I don't think I ever will because I'm not a horror person) but I reckon Nick Hoult and Emma Stone can pull off just about any role!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the follow, followed back via GFC
Thanks for stopping by. Joyland isn't a horror novel its a mystery. I thought it was very good and very well written.
DeleteI really liked Nick Hoult in Warm Bodies so he was first on my list for Dev Jones. I also agree that Emma Stone can play pretty much anything. I'm also not going to lie, I think she is really cute too.
That's really a great casting! I love anything with Emma Stone :)
