Waiting on Wednesday- Talon Vol. 1: Scourge of the Owls


Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine. This day allows us to share news on upcoming releases that have us on the edge of our seats in anticipation.

I am really intrigued by this comic series. I loved the Batman: Court of Owls books and when I saw this I had to see what it is all about. Here is the Goodreads blurb:
As a young performer with Haly's Circus, young Calvin Rose was secretly being raised to be a master assassin--a killing machine called a Talon. The Talons have always served the mysterious Court of Owls, a group of wealthy individuals who will stop at nothing to maintain their grip on power in Gotham City.  When Rose defects from the Talon's ranks, he is marked for death and spends the next few years using all his training to hide from his former masters.

After years on the run, Rose finally returns to Gotham City following the horrors of "The Night of Owls."  He'll set off to investigate what remains of the Court of Owls, but will he be able to gain his freedom at long last?
Haly's circus is the very same circus that Dick Greyson (Nightwing) grew up in. I am very interested to see what secrets the circus may hold that will link to the Greysons. Should be a good read and I look forward to reading this and putting the review here for everyone to read. This book is set to be released on September 3, 20013.

Welcome to Horrorwood: The Silver Scream 2

Ice Nine Kills Welcome to the bar, pull up a stool and get ready to rock out!!! Since this is my favorite month out of the year, I’m hitting the reviews hard with everything spooky. I will get to the rest of the blog, sports, whiskey, and other books and movie reviews eventually.  This album came out October 15th and I have been waiting for this release a long time. Here is the great thing about Ice Nine Kills. Not only are they a kick ass metal band, but they have taken the horror genre to a whole new level. Their music is clever and the perfect complement to the classic horror movies fans love. I fell in metal love with these guys with their last album the Silver Scream. Ice Nine Kills writes songs based on the plots of horror movies. I have to admit that I was so lost as to what type of picture I should take. Yes, I know it was supposed to be funny but I was still at a loss. I asked my wife what I should do and she asked me if I still knew how to tie a noose. Don't judge me I was a weird teen. Anyway she said I should hang my favorite book in homage to Halloween.
