The October List



Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine, where we have the chance to share news on upcoming releases that have us on the edge of our seats in anticipation.

I am a big fan of Jeffery Deaver's work, he is my favorite author. Once a year he puts out a novel in June with either Lincoln Rhyme or Kathryn Dance. Occasionally he puts out a one shot fall release and those, I think, are some of his best work. This book will be released on October 1st 2013. Here is a description:   

Gabriela waits desperately for news of her abducted daughter. At last, the door opens. But it's not the negotiators. It's not the FBI. It's the kidnapper. And he has a gun.

How did it come to this?

Two days ago, Gabriela's life was normal. Then, out of the blue, she gets word that her six-year-old daughter has been taken. She's given an ultimatum: pay half a million dollars and find a mysterious document known as the "October List" within 30 hours, or she'll never see her child again.

A mind-bending novel with twists and turns that unfold from its dramatic climax back to its surprising beginning, THE OCTOBER LIST is Jeffery Deaver at his masterful, inventive best.
There is nothing scarier to me than having one of my children taken. I can only imagine the kind of suspense Deaver has in-store for us. I can't wait for this book to be released and I already have it on pre-order.

Welcome to Horrorwood: The Silver Scream 2

Ice Nine Kills Welcome to the bar, pull up a stool and get ready to rock out!!! Since this is my favorite month out of the year, I’m hitting the reviews hard with everything spooky. I will get to the rest of the blog, sports, whiskey, and other books and movie reviews eventually.  This album came out October 15th and I have been waiting for this release a long time. Here is the great thing about Ice Nine Kills. Not only are they a kick ass metal band, but they have taken the horror genre to a whole new level. Their music is clever and the perfect complement to the classic horror movies fans love. I fell in metal love with these guys with their last album the Silver Scream. Ice Nine Kills writes songs based on the plots of horror movies. I have to admit that I was so lost as to what type of picture I should take. Yes, I know it was supposed to be funny but I was still at a loss. I asked my wife what I should do and she asked me if I still knew how to tie a noose. Don't judge me I was a weird teen. Anyway she said I should hang my favorite book in homage to Halloween.
