What I'm reading
Happy Wednesday
It has been a slow reading week for me and it has caused a stall in my blog. I will be honest and say that I haven't really been in the reading mood. I downed a bunch of graphic novels all at once and I have some amazing ones lined up to read and review Thanks to DC Comics and Edelweiss so look for those in the future. Shhhh, it's a secret as to which ones I have lined up. Have I sufficiently built suspense yet?
I am one of those people who has several books going at a time so I figured sine I have taken a bit of a hiatus this week that I would at least share what is on my bedside table so to speak. Work has been crazy busy and stressful this week so I haven't been listening to my audio book that often. I have been rocking out with some metal and hard rock to get me all pumped up to take on my daily tasks at work and power through all of the extra stuff thrown at me. Needless to say it is taking longer to get through this book that it usually wood. Currently I am reading Fractured by Karin Slaughter.
This book is a rough read. Karin Slaughter likes to really tug on your heart strings and make the reader sick to their stomach. If you are not deeply disturbed by what her villains have done then there might be something wrong with you. It is a true testament to her writing skill when something so horrible can make me nauseous and still not be able to put the book down. It's like a train wreck, it is so terrible but you still can't look away.
I am really enjoying the book but because of how crazy things have been music has just been what I need to keep me chugging along through my work. That and lots and lots of coffee. I should finish this book by the end of the week so with any luck I will be back to my regular posting next week.
This is the second book in the Will Trent series and I can tell you at this point I am enjoying it much more than the previous book Tryptich. I am only a few books behind catching up to where I started with Karin Slaughter's books. Soon I will just have to sit and wait for the new books like everyone else.

So for discussion sake, you all know what I'm reading. What are you reading right now?
I've been kind of behind on reading and blogging myself. In March we had some friends visit for a week, then family the next week, and then another friend the following weekend. Yikes. I didn't really have time to read or blog. Death in the Family I think is basically a collection of stories from some of the comics you have probably already read. I am currently trying to finish a few of the YA series I started that had the final books come out last year. I think I have three to read. Of course I am catching up on a few comics myself. Almost done with the Fables series! Kind of bittersweet since I love the fairy tale aspect in them. Anyways... I should be around more!
ReplyDeleteI just haven't had the drive to read or blog lately. I feel bad because I am not visiting my favorite blogs (sorry I haven't been around yours. I've just really been enjoying some good music at work and at home I have been resting and building Legos. Legos are one thing I refuse to grow out of and my son loves them so we can build together. Really glad to see you again on the blog. I don't seem to get anyone else to comment on my posts.
